Welcome to my drawing club! In today’s class, we’re drawing Anxiety from Inside Out.
Let’s begin by drawing the eyes in the center of our page. Start with the left eye, drawing a large circle from the top, down to the bottom, and back up to the top. Then, draw another circle on the right, touching the first one, making sure they are the same size. Inside each eye, draw a smaller circle for the iris, and add a small black dot in the center for the pupils.
Step 1: Draw the Eyes and Eyelids
To give the eyes more character, draw thick eyelids on top. Start from the outside of the left eye, curve up a bit higher in the middle, and then taper it down towards the center. Repeat the same on the right side, making sure both eyelids match. Fill the eyelids in black. Add folds at the outside of the eyes by drawing lines that curve outwards and then bend back in.
Step 2: Draw the Mouth and Teeth
Below the eyes, draw a curved line for the mouth, going up in the middle and then down towards the right. Round out the ends of the mouth and then add the top row of teeth. Start with a central tooth, drawing a half-circle curve, then add more teeth on each side, making the end teeth smaller. Round out the corners of the mouth and tuck the lower edge of the mouth behind the teeth. Add one more tooth on each side at the bottom and fill the inside of the mouth with black.
Step 3: Draw the Cheeks and Hair
Next, draw the cheeks by wrapping lines around the mouth. Start from the outside of the fold, curve up around the corner of the mouth, and follow the curve down and in. Close off the bottom of the cheeks with a line that curves up in the middle and then down. For the hair, start at the top of the left eye and curve a line up, around, and back down. Repeat on the right side. Add points across the top by drawing curves that go up, then down, continuing this pattern across the top of the head.
Step 4: Draw the Eyebrows
Place the eyebrows between the hair and the eyes. Start on the inside, bend the line down and then out, flattening the top with a straight angled line. Taper the eyebrows down towards the outside point and fill them in black.
Step 5: Draw the Body and Arms
Draw the turtleneck collar by curving down from the left side of the head and bending it up. Below the collar, draw the sides of the body, curving down and then bending out towards the legs. Round out the bottom of the pants and add the top of the belt with a curve, stepping down to draw another line parallel to it. In the center, draw a small circle for the belt buckle. Below the buckle, add a curve for the lower torso and then draw the legs. Leave a gap in the center, and draw lines down towards the heels. Round out the bottom of the feet, then draw the top of the foot by curving up and then down.
Step 6: Draw the Arms and Finish the Details
For the arms, start from the top of the body and draw straight angled lines down and out towards the wrists. Draw a half-circle for the thumb and close off the end with a bracket. Add three fingers by drawing curves that start underneath the thumb, round out, and pull back in towards the cuff. Repeat on the right side. Draw stripes across the sweater by adding curves down the body and across the arms. Mirror the stripes on the right arm. Finally, sign your art and add a splash of color.
That’s pretty much it! You’ve learned how to draw Anxiety from Inside Out. I hope you enjoyed today’s lesson. If you did, please make sure you subscribe because I’m posting new lessons every single day. Thank you for watching, and I’ll see you again soon!
