What’s up everyone and welcome to my drawing club! In today’s drawing class, I want to show you how to draw Ripley. If you’ve seen any other characters that you’d like me to draw.

Step 1: Draw the Head

Start by drawing a large circle at the top center of your page for the head, leaving a gap on the left side. From the top, draw the circle going around and back in towards the left, leaving a gap on the side. Tuck a bubble behind this gap by stepping up from the top, drawing around, and tucking it in on the inside.

Step 2: Draw the Eyes and Mouth

Move over towards the right and draw another bubble in line with the center of the head. Add two circles for the eyes inside the head. Start on the left side, draw a circle, then repeat on the right. Add a smaller circle at the top left of each eye for the highlight and fill the eyes in black.

For the mouth, shift it towards the right. Directly underneath the right eye, start with a point, curve down and across towards the left, then connect these points with a lower curve.

Step 3: Draw the Outer Head and Bumps

From the left eye, step out and curve up, then in towards the middle. Stop about halfway. Add a bump overlapping the top of the head by stepping down, curving out, and then back in. Continue the curve of the head in behind, adding another smaller bump. Continue down the right side, curving out and then down.

Step 4: Draw the Shoulders and Arms

From the side of the head, round out the shoulders and come down the arms. On the left side, curve out, then come straight down. Repeat on the right side to the same height. Draw the inside of the strap coming down towards the hip by curving in and down from the left side of the arm. Repeat on the right side, then close off the bottom with a curve.

Step 5: Draw the Chest Pad and Buckles

Connect the hips with a half-oval for the chest pad. Step up and follow the same curve behind the chest pad for the top of the strap. Add two buckles on each side by drawing angled lines up and in, then stepping down and repeating. Trace the curve of the chest pad on the inside and split it in half with a straight line across the middle.

Step 6: Draw the Waist and Pouches

From the left hip, draw a straight line down, then repeat on the right. Follow the curve of the hip and pull it up underneath the hip. Add two pouches on each side by drawing straight lines out, down, and in. Draw a buckle in the center and add flaps on the pouches with curves coming down and back up. Draw straight lines from the bottom of the curves down to the bottom of the pouches.

Step 7: Draw the Legs and Feet

From the center of the waist, step down and draw a curve from left to right for the lower torso. Leave a gap in the center, then curve out and down towards the left heel, and repeat on the right side. Round out the bottom of the feet by curving down and up towards the toes. Draw the top of the feet by curving up and down towards the heel, stopping midway. Add the sole by stepping up and duplicating the curve.

Step 8: Add Details to the Legs

Round out the side of the legs from the outside pouch, curving out and down, then pulling in on top of the foot. Draw the boot edge by curving down and up from the outside. Add pouches on the side of each leg by stepping up from the inside pouch, curving down and out. Step out and curve down with a short line, then add a half-circle on the outside.

Step 9: Draw the Arms and Gloves

From the top of the arm, step down and draw the inside of the arm curving out and down towards the wrist. Repeat on the right side. Draw the thumb by creating a small half-circle, then connect the bottom of the thumb to the wrist with a curve. Add three fingers starting from the bottom of the thumb, curving down and up. Repeat on the right side.

Step 10: Add Fins and Glove Details

Draw a fin on the back of each arm by curving out and up from the wrist, making sure to go higher than the top of the arm. Round out the top of the fin and bring it back down behind the arm. Add the edge of the glove by curving up and down just over the thumb. Separate the fingers of the glove with curves for each finger.
