Today, I’m going to show you how to draw Baby Yoda from Star Wars. So, grab a piece of paper and something to draw with, and let’s get started!
Step 1: Drawing the Eyes
Start by drawing the upper eyelids. Move to the left side of the page and draw a curve that goes up towards the top and then back down on the inside, forming a half-circle shape. Leave a gap in the center and draw the same shape on the right side, making sure to align it with the left eye. Connect the outer edges of the eyelids to the inner edges with a curve, creating complete eyes. Add a highlight circle on the top left of each eye and fill in the rest of the eye with black.
Step 2: Drawing the Nose and Mouth
In the center, draw the nose by creating a curve that comes down and then back up. Above the nose, add a short curve in the opposite direction to form the bridge. Move down to draw the mouth by curving up and then down. Add a slight curl to the corners of the mouth and draw a lower lip by tracing the same curve of the mouth just below it.
Step 3: Adding Details Around the Eyes
Draw a ring under each eye by stepping just below the eye and curving down and then up. Repeat this on the right side. Add a ring above each eye by curving up in the middle and then bending down towards the inside. Move down to draw the chin by stepping down from the corners of the mouth and curving down and then back up. Round out the cheeks by stepping out from the corners of the eyes, curving down, and pulling the lines back in behind the chin.
Step 4: Drawing the Ears
From the top of the cheeks, curve up and then out to form the inside of the ears on both sides. For the bottom of the ears, start on the left and curve in and down, then round out the ear and pull it back up behind the cheek. Repeat this on the right side. Add a fold inside each ear by stepping down from the top of the ear and drawing a short line up and out. Taper this line back in towards the side of the head.
Step 5: Drawing the Head and Brow
Draw the top of the head by curving up from the left side, rounding out the top, and bringing it down on the right side. Add a brow line in the center by starting with a point, curving up and then down on both sides. Draw the top edge of the brow by curving up and then down. Add some short hairs along the top of the head by drawing short, random lines.
Step 6: Drawing the Collar and Coat
Draw the collar by curving out and down from the base of the ears on both sides. Then, curve down and in towards the middle from the left side. Draw a fold by curving up and over to the right, underneath the cheek. Draw the right side of the collar by stepping up, curving out and up towards the right side. From the collar, draw the coat by stepping in and down, curving out and then down on both sides. Connect these points with a curve. Draw a straight line down from the center of the collar. Add the arms by curving out and down from the corners of the collar and adding folds that curve out and down behind the body. Add the hands by drawing the thumbs first, curving down and out, then hooking back up. Draw the fingers by curving out and then back in, and adding a second finger by curving out from the outside of the cuff and tucking it behind the first finger. Add thumbnails by curving up and then down on the inside of each thumb.
